Where does the money raised go?
Over the years the money has gone to various projects, one of the biggest was to help fund the early year’s classroom, also the wooden shelter on the field and recently we have replaced the school netball, football and country dancing kits.
When do we meet?
We meet once or twice a term, sometimes more often when a big event is approaching, usually at the school/Cedar Centre in the evening though we have met at member’s houses and the pub.
What is in it for me?
A chance to get to know other parents, to take part in the wider school community and to help in raising funds for equipment for your child’s school. It can be hard work at times but is also a lot of fun. Our children get a lot out of seeing us support the school and can also get quite enthusiastic about ‘doing their bit’ as well, as they get older.
How can I find out more? / How can I get involved?
Speak to any member of the committee. Messages in written form can be left at the office as long as they are addressed to the Friends Committee. Alternatively there is usually at least one member of the committee in the playground at the beginning or end of the school day. Friends email – friends@castor.peterborough.sch.uk
Come along to the AGM or to a committee meeting. We also keep a list of people who like to help at events but don’t want to be on the committee. If you are interested in this please speak to one of the committee.
