Castor Church of England Primary School

Friends of Castor Church of England Primary School

The Friends of Castor C of E Primary School are a team made up from volunteers from the school community.  Our members can be parents, carers, grandparents, staff members and also members of the wider community that wish to contribute their time.  We organise a range of fundraising and non-fundraising events throughout the year. The events are valued by the children and their families alike, and help bring the school and the local community together.

Successful events have, in the past, included The Christmas Disco, The Easter Egg Hunt and Easter Bonnet competition, Joules Seconds Sale, Sponsored read for World Book Week, Summer Disco and Race Night. Additionally, funds have been raised through raffles, the sale of Christmas cards designed by the children and second hand uniform sales.
These funds have been directed to various projects across the school, such as new books for the library, Year Books for Year 6 leavers, chick hatching kit for the Reception class, Circus Skills Workshop for KS2, and a contribution to Year 2 trip to The Lion King.  Our biggest project that we have contributed to in recent times is the George Stevenson Bank and Shop Project within school and an ongoing commitment to provide the stock that is sold in the shop.

The Friends are always looking for new members, so whether you would like to be a part of the committee (a commitment of a meeting once or twice a term) or get involved with organising for a big event as a member of the fundraising team, please let us know.  Additionally if you can assist in any other way please let us know.  We are contactable via email - friends@castor.peterborough.sch.uk  our facebook page, or in the school playground.

Friends has signed up to the 'Stikins' name label commission scheme. These multipurpose stick on name labels are suitable for all kinds of school items, including school uniform, P.E. kit, and subject equipment. Stikins can be stuck onto the wash-care label of clothing and fabric items or directly onto bags, shoes, lunch boxes, water bottles, books, stationery kits, P.E. kits, and much, much more. Our name tags are white in colour and printed with a bold black font to make sure they are really easy to read - for children and adults alike.

Friends of Castor C of E Primary school earn commission each time you purchase Stikins name labels.  Please quote 3833 when you are ordering as the school reference and click on the link below:
