Castor Church of England Primary School

Headteacher's Welcome

Welcome to Castor Church of England Primary School

"Welcome to our happy and vibrant school. I hope that by spending some time on our website you are able to get a flavour of life at our school.

We are a school at the heart of our community. The school’s distinctive Christian character and strong links with St. Kyneburgha's Church help create a learning environment with a Christian ethos at its heart. Our Christian Vision is 'We have faith in God, ourselves and everyone around us in order to achieve our full potential academically, emotionally, socially and physically, thereby empowering us all to make a positive difference to the world.' This vision steers everyday life at our school. The Governors, staff, parents and children have a palpable sense of pride in the way that they talk about their school and go about their daily work.

We are a school that works hard to ensure that the latest educational initiatives and teaching approaches are used effectively to ensure the best possible education for our children. Our pupil outcomes for attainment are above national averages in most areas, and our children are keen to succeed.

We are also a school steeped in tradition and history, with a real 'family' feel about us. Our whole school events such as the May Day dancing and egg rolling at Easter are highlights of the school year and bring the whole school community together, and have done so for a number of years.

We have wonderfully supportive parents and families at our school, and the strong relationship between home and school, along with hardworking children and staff, forms the basis of our success.
