Castor Church of England Primary School

Pupil Premium and Sport Premium

The Pupil Premium is additional funding for schools in England to raise the attainment of disadvantaged pupils of all abilities and to close the gaps between them and their peers. Pupil premium is not a personal budget for individual pupils, and schools do not have to spend pupil premium so that it solely benefits pupils who meet the funding criteria. It can be used to support other pupils with identified needs, such as those who have or have had a social worker, or who act as a carer. It can also be used for whole class/whole school interventions which will also benefit non-disadvantaged pupils.

The PE and Sport Premium is additional funding that schools must use to make additional and sustainable improvements to the quality of physical education (PE), physical activity and sport that it offers.
