Special Educational Needs
At Castor C of E School, we support children with a range of special needs. These needs include children of high ability as well as those experiencing learning, communication and interaction, social or emotional difficulties. It also includes children with specific disabilities.
The majority of children with learning needs are helped in the classroom and are supported by individual programmes of work, where appropriate. Some children with particular and identified needs are supported by Teaching Assistants (either individually or in groups), who work closely with the class teacher. Members of staff are able to draw on the advice and experience of colleagues, including the Special Educational Needs Co-ordinator. Support and advice is also available from a range of outside agencies including speech and language therapist, school nurse and Educational Psychologist. Please see the School's information report for further information.
